The Chairman and the Committee would like to wish all our members a very
Happy Motoring Year
The Chairman notes -
Techno Classica Car Show.
This year’s annual Techno Classica Car Show is being held in Essen from 7th – 11th April, (www.siha.de). If you are looking for parts or accessories for your historic BMW this show is well worth a visit. It is one of the largest shows of its type in the world so you would certainly need to allow more than one day to cover it. It has become a popular meeting place for a number of our Club members, who are regular visitors.
Apart from the autojumble there are many stands for vintage, classic and
prestige cars, motor sport, motorcycles, spare parts and restoration as well as numerous club stands. The nearest airport is Düsseldorf International, which is a twenty minute taxi ride from the show.
Handbooks
We are still aiming to reproduce the
315/319, 327 and 328 handbooks to the original specification; with the lovely bound covers, these copies will cost
between £30 and £40. Register your interest with John Muschamp either by post at the Club’s address or by e-mail on chairman@bmwhistoricmotorclub.co.uk .
The Club Website
Visit the new website for BMW HMC www.bmwhistoricmotorclub.co.uk, and see photos of each model produced, with an in-depth fact sheet covering engine, transmission and chassis dimensions, and how many were built. Information about Club’s events is also presented.

VSCC New Year's Day Jolly at The Royal Oak
Mark Garfitt says:- "We had a cold, bright and sunny day at Much Marcle between
Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury. Some 118 pre-war cars came from all directions...the really good news is that the self-judging
Concours was won by our Chairman and his wife, John and Fabienne with their superb 1939 FN-BMW 327/80 LMF 225
dhc. There was strong competition from a broad cross-section of cars including my 1937 319/55 FMC 119! The question to be
answered was 'which car would you like to take home other than your own', and, of course, seeing that lovely lined hood
erected had some appeal on a cold and frosty day ! Well done the Muschamps ! Well done the 327!"

Changed hands…
Earlier this year Norman Mascall bought
JMP 5, the ex-Fane FN-BMW 328, from Andrew Baker. This is an up-and-running and historic, car but Norman will undoubtedly be itching to do something to it !
James Peacop has bought HMG 323 ch.70265, 1936 FN-BMW 315 4-str. cabriolet, from Tom Docherty, whose late father David, owned the car from 1978 until 2006. According to the AFN records, the car was originally sold to the Brooklands Motor Co. on 19/10/36 (with disc wheels), who then sold it to Florence Dormer, of Godalming, on 18/3/38. Although it had been with Brooklands all that time, by 12/4/38 when AFN did the 500 mile service, it had still only done 511 miles. (Nice to have a snippet of early history - Ed)
